Sage Enhances its Mobile Payments App

Sage North America released an updated version of its mobile payments solution. Sage Mobile Payments 2.0 has many new features including a tax and tip calculator and signature capture capabilities.
Businesses with a Sage merchant account can use Sage Mobile Payments to securely process credit and debit card transactions on cell phones and tablets. Sage Mobile Payments is compatible with mobile devices across all major wireless carriers.
“In 2011, 25 percent of worldwide mobile PC shipments were tablets, and upwards of 75 percent U.S small and midsized businesses plan to purchase tablets in the next year,” said Greg Hammermaster, president of Sage Payment Solutions, the payments division for Sage. “Mobility has truly become a must-have in today’s business world.”
Sage Mobile Payments offer businesses the opportunity to close sales and complete transactions anywhere using a secure and PCI-compliant payment system at a minimal cost.
“While other vendors are fighting over no monthly fees, but higher processing costs for mobile transactions, we’re still saying ‘no’ to mobile transaction surcharges,” said Hammermaster. “With Sage Mobile Payments, businesses have the option to pay no more than they would to process regular credit or debit card transactions on a standard credit card terminal.”
Features of the new version include:
- One Merchant Account – Using their existing Sage merchant account, businesses can now add mobile payments to their existing payment solution for the same processing rate.
- Updated User Interface on Smart Phones – A new user interface aims to make processing payments easier than before.
- Signature Capture – Customers can now complete their transaction by providing their signature. With the swipe of a finger, the customer’s signature is captured and a signed receipt is emailed to the business and the customer.
- Tax And Tip Calculator – The Sage Mobile application now automatically calculates tax due and tips.
- App Store Download – Businesses can download the Sage Mobile application right from the Android Marketplace or Apple’s iTunes store at no charge. They can start accepting payments once they have set up their merchant account by calling Sage.
